I-9 and E-Verify Compliance

They are wearing formal corporate business clothes.Individuals who want to work in the U.S. must have authorization to do so. Every employer in the U.S., no matter how small or how large, is required to complete an I-9 Form for each and every employee, including owners and senior level management. Federal statutes and regulations, as well as an increasing number of state laws, govern this complex area of the law.  The verification process can be complicated and confusing.

E-Verify is an internet-based computer system that allows employers to check incoming employees for employment authorization in the U.S.  Using E-Verify provides employers with an added measure of security in their hiring practices, helping to ensure a fully legal work force.   However, improper use of E-Verify, even if the employer means well, can lead to fines and penalties.

Dubin Singer Phillips PC offers a range of I-9 and E-Verify services to help clients ensure their policies and practices are fully compliant with the law. We also assist employers who are in receipt of a “no-match” or Employer Correction Requests Notice from the Social Security Administration to ensure they respond appropriately.
