Mitch Phillips is a partner at Dubin Singer Phillips PC. Mitch has broad experience in real estate transactions nationwide. He advises owners, developers, builders, lenders, landlords and tenants in virtually all aspects of commercial and residential real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing, leasing and related transactions. As part of his practice, Mitch frequently drafts and negotiates purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, and provides counsel on investment entity structuring.
A strong focus of Mitch’s practice revolves around retail development throughout the United States. For each development project, Mitch counsels his clients from the initial stages of site selection and property assemblage through the final stages of construction. He advises his clients in connection with contract negotiations, evaluation of due diligence reports, securing appropriate entitlements, financing, and closing each transaction. His involvement in each step of the development process provides him with a pragmatic understanding necessary to successfully meet his clients’ objectives.
Mitch’s practice is also concentrated in the area of residential development. He advises his clients in the acquisition, development and financing of multi-family projects nationwide and regularly works with clients acquiring broken condominiums and distressed subdivision developments. His residential development experience includes the creation and organization of condominium and homeowners associations, drafting declarations, covenants, conditions and restrictions, and reciprocal easement agreements, along with analyzing due diligence reports necessary to develop a successful project.
Mitch earned his Joint J.D./LL.M in Real Estate Law in 2008 from The John Marshall Law School, and his B.A. in 2004 from the University of Iowa.
Mitch’s interests include traveling, playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends.
